Civid
The Project
Civid was a social debate platform that revolves around the latest breaking news. Users were invited to challenge their stance on breaking news and recent events, and present new perspectives to people who want their opinions challenged.
Civid’s goal was to create a cooperative intellectual community committed to gaining a greater understanding of current events. During alpha phase, users were invited to start a discussion based on an opinion they accept as flawed, and other users are challenged to change their mind. Users who are the most successful at demonstrating their perspective on the topic are awarded points and accolades.
Responsibilities
Architected and prototyped full-stack MVP using React, Redux, and Django
Managed team of engineers in fast-paced startup environment
Designed wireframes and mockups
Designed logomark, graphical elements and banners
Set up hosted AWS EC2+RDS service with deployment pipeline
Managed a team of contractors to optimize code and build auxiliary features
